Community Projects
The most rewarding of my work is when I get to do community projects. It is so enriching to work with adults and kids to create something together. Below are some of the projects I've been lucky enough to be a part of.

These Pateros High School seniors and juniors completed four stained glass windows for their lobby in Spring 2007. Again, thanks to Methow Arts for their support of this project.

In June 2006, this mosaic was installed at the Winthrop Post Office. The 6th graders at Methow Valley Elementary worked on this piece for about 5 weeks. They were trained in fire ecology by Sarah Berns of the Forest Service, then put together this beautiful mosaic showing the life cycle of a forest. Kathleen Briley designed the piece, and I taught the kids how to do mosaic. So fun! Thanks to Methow Arts and the Public School Funding Alliance for their support.

The mosaic below was done as a community project during the July 2006 Art's Fest sponsored by Methow Arts. The mosaic was installed this summer in the women's restroom at the Twisp Community Center.

In Spring 2005, I worked with 9th graders at Pateros High School to make a 17' long mosaic for their school. The first picture below shows the kids grouting the piece; the second picture is at the dedication ceremony.

Also in the Spring of '05, a group of 11th and 12th graders at Pateros High school created these beautiful windows for their entryway.

The piece above was created in the Spring of 2004 by honors art students at Liberty Bell High School. Patrick Button designed the piece, then worked with Isabel, Cassandra, Kary, and Madison to complete it. It's permanently installed in the entry way of their school.
