Work History

1998-Present Stained Glass Dreams, self employed artist

I began working with glass in 1998 and have been completely enthralled by the medium ever since. Since leaving employment with the State of Washington in 2003, I have been working full-time as a glass artist. The range of my work includes stained glass, fused glass, and mosaic art. My focus for 2008 is “Mosaics with a Message,” that is, expressing my personal thoughts and concerns about our world in mosaic art.

Teaching is very exciting aspect of my work which I do with adults and children in my own art studio and also at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp. I have taught dozens of beginning and intermediate mosaic and stained glass classes. I offer free classes for students in grades 7-12 throughout the year.

My husband is a builder and we work together to create artistic homes in the Methow Valley. To date, we have built three homes that include stained glass windows, fused glass sinks, fused glass sconces, fused/stained glass entry doors, mosaic backsplashes and mirrors, and mosaic shower surrounds.

Public Art & Events

2008	Plans are in process for adults and children of our community tomake a mosaic mural at Jamie's Place, the Assisted Living Center in Winthrop. Project will be completed this summer.
2007	Taught summer mosaic class for 15 kids at the Art Barn in Winthrop. My daughter Shannon assisted.
2007	Winthrop Gallery, Winthrop, WA – Featured artist show focused on fused glass lighting and mosaic.
2007	Methow Valley July 4th Arts Fest – Ran a mosaic glass suncatcher booth for 200+ adults and kids.
2007	Pateros High School, Pateros, WA – Artist-in-Residence. Worked with 11th and 12th grade students to create four stained glass windows for their school’s entryway.
2006	Methow Valley July 4th Arts Festival – Ran the community project booth. Created a 30’ x 1’ mosaic border for the Twisp Community Center restroom.
2006	Methow Valley Elementary, Winthrop, WA – Artist-in-Residence. Worked with 6th graders to create a 4’ x 6’ mural (“Life Cycle of the Forest”) for the Winthrop Post Office.
2005	Pateros High School, Pateros, WA – Artist-in-Residence. Worked with 9th grade students to create an 18’ x 3’ glass mosaic mural for the entrance to their cafeteria. Worked with 11th and 12th grade students to create two stained glass windows for their school’s main entryway.
2005	Methow Valley July 4th Arts Festival – Ran a booth that served 200+ little kids (and big kids) making glass suncatchers.
2005	Winthrop Gallery, Winthrop, WA – Featured artist show focused on fused glass lighting.
2004	Liberty Bell Sr. High School, Winthrop, Artist-in-Residence. Worked with students to create a 5’ x 3’ stained glass window for their school’s entryway.
2004	Community School, Twisp, WA. Worked with 4-6 year olds to create a butterfly mosaic for their school's auction/fundraiser.
